WAC-47 was a minor supporting character from the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and was the deuteragonist of the D-squad 4-part arc in Season 5. He was a modified DUM-series pit droid who was part of the titular squad in a top secret mission to steal a decoding module from a vault inside a enemy battleship.
He was voiced by Ben Diskin.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- While not as hated as Meebur Gascon (mostly because he does seem to care about his droid fellows to some degree) viewers still found him insufferable for being an pointless comic relief in a arc that didn't need one considering how the arc wasn't particularly dark in the first place and only two characters have dialogue including him and since both characters are Scrappies, most fans would have preferred he didn't talk like the rest of the astromechs.
- While he does have a major record of saving the day that Gascon, he still causes a lot of problems for the crew for his blatant incompetence and a lot of times he's awarded for simply fixing the issues he caused.
- He is condescending towards astromech droids, insisting he is a superior model to them, this is despise the droids are constantly saving his ass and of the Colonel.
- The running gag of him treating Gascon as a glorified map reader and forgetting his true rank gets old very quickly, specially because of how insufferable the way Gascon responds to the claims is.
- Beyond how unappealing the character is, the storyline he's part of is simply not so good. The mission isn't that interesting and is resolved in the very first episode with the next three episodes getting trapped on Abafar, seeking escape (eventually succeeding) and getting attacked during the homecoming.
- Like Meebur, he makes a tantrum in A Sunny Day in the Void while the rest of the group are trying to find a way to leave the desert, the two fall in total despair until they just happen to find a local animal that guides them to water but when they get there the rest of the D-squad is already in that place meaning they would have being fine if they didn't just start making drama at a bad moment and followed the group.
- While he did return in the D-Squad comic, he dosen't do much other than being a pilot.
