Chancellor Vilos Cohaagen is the main antagonist of the 2012 remake of Total Recall. He is based on the character of the same name who appears in the original film.
He was portrayed by Bryan Cranston.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- Cohaagen's character lacks the depth and complexity that would make him a compelling villain. His motivations are not fully explored, making him seem one-dimensional.
- His role as the main antagonist is predictable and doesn't offer any surprising twists or developments. This makes his character less engaging.
- Cohaagen's motivations for his actions, such as the invasion of the Colony, are not convincingly portrayed. This makes it difficult for the audience to understand or relate to his character.
- Some viewers found Bryan Cranston's portrayal of Cohaagen to be overly dramatic and exaggerated, which detracted from the character's credibility.
- Cohaagen's character falls into the clichéd trope of the power-hungry tyrant, without adding any unique elements that would set him apart from other villains.
- Cohaagen's behavior and actions are sometimes inconsistent, making it hard to follow his character's logic and intentions.
- Some of his lines and dialogue feel forced and unnatural, detracting from the overall narrative and making his character less believable.
- Despite being the central antagonist, Cohaagen fails to leave a lasting impression as a memorable villain. His character lacks the impact and presence needed to make him stand out.
