Thor Odinson, also known as The God, is a minor character in the 2008 animated film Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow. He is the ruler of Asgard and prominent member of the Avengers prior to its disbandment.
He was voiced by Michael Adamthwaite.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- His main criticism is that he abandons his daughter, Torunn, as it makes him seem like a deadbeat and caused Torunn mental issues and deep insecurities into her teenage life.
- His reasoning that he wanted to teach Torunn humanity in the same way Odin taught him has also been criticized due to the different circumstances between his and his father’s situations (Odin wanted to fix the mistakes he made with raising Thor, while the latter abandoned his daughter without trying to avoid doing said mistakes).
- Another strong criticism towards him is how, even though he was strong enough to stand against him, Thor made no attempt to stop Ultron's conquest of humanity. This made many viewer think that Thor is partially responsible for what Ultron did.
- He's criticized for being a relatively flat character, as he only appears in one scene and does not exhibit many personality traits and his relationship with Torunn is not given much depth.
Trivia[]
- This is the only character from a Marvel animated film to be a Scrappy.
