Benjamin Jacob "Ben" Grimm, better known as The Thing, is the deuteragonist of the infamous 2015 superhero film Fantastic Four.

He is Reed Richard's best friend who was given superhuman strength and durability after being exposed to extradimensional radiation.

He was portrayed by Jamie Bell.

What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]

Unlike The Thing from the comics, who is shown to be an intelligent person, he is treated as nothing more than a muscle head. This doesn't even make sense plotwise, as he was smart enough to work on Reed's portal.
His iconic catchphrase, "It's Clobberin' Time," has an extremely stupid origin in the film, with it being what Ben's brother used to say before he beat him.
He breaks into the Baxter Building and goes into the portal just because a drunk Reed told him to.
His design is extremely hard to look at, as he doesn't wear pants and is instead completely naked. Some fans have also compared his skin to that of fried chicken.
While The Thing in the comics was an incredibly wholesome and relatable character, this version is a complete edgelord. He even killed 47 people for the government, something comic Thing would never do.
He never adopts the title of The Thing. The best we get is Johnny calling him "the thing that nobody wanted."
Like the rest of the characters, he doesn't have much personality outside of his one defining character trait.
He's partially responsible from the infamous title drop at the end of the movie. This is because it feels too forced to come up with the team name of “Fantastic 4”.
