~ The Fallen on how he (somehow) gained telekinetic abilities, even though he never once uses them in a fight. |
Megatronus Prime, also known as The Fallen, is the main antagonist of season 1 of the 2015 animated series, Transformers: Robots in Disguise, a sequel to Transformers: Prime.
He is one of the Thirteen Primes who betrayed his brethren to become the First Decepticon.
He was voiced by Gil Gerard.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- Even though they're supposed to be the same character, his backstory is completely different from his version in The Covenant of Primus and his other incarnations.
- In the novel, he was an incredibly tragic character who was unfairly ostracized by the other Primes and self-exiled himself after accidentally murdering his girlfriend, Solus Prime. None of this is present in RID, and thus he is an insufferably bland, mustache-twirling villain who murdered Solus for no reason and wants to destroy the Earth out of revenge.
- It's never even explained why he wants to get revenge on the Earth, as the planet wasn't even around when he was exiled by the Primes.
- Audiences did not buy him as a legitimate threat, but he only appears in three episodes and is defeated after a single battle.
- The fact he communicates with Steeljaw as a disembodied head with glowing eyes certainly didn't make him any more intimidating.
- Out of all the people he could have gone to, including Megatron, he sought out Steeljaw for help. Fans have criticized this, as it makes Megatronus look incompetent.
- Even though he (somehow) has telekinetic abilities, he never once uses them on the Autobots.
- He can transform into a tank, yet it was explicitly stated the Primes don't have alt-modes.
- Gil Gerald's performance is considered poor, and fans thought he made the character sound completely ridiculous.
- He's called the first Decepticon and has a Decepticon insignia, yet it was shown in Prime that the Decepticons were an uprising that happened years after Megatronus' time.
Trivia[]
- He and the Bayverse version of the Fallen are the only versions of the character to be Scrappies. Coincidentally, both are hated for being incredibly flat and underwhelming villains, and both are Pure Evil.
