The Ants are recurring villains in Happy Tree Friends, and the nemeses of Sniffles.

What Makes Them Scrappies?

• They get away with torturing and killing Sniffles every single time. While death and murders are a norm in the series that they're from, their means of killing Sniffles are uniquely heinous, as they often result in some of the most gruesome deaths in the entire series:
  • In Crazy Ant-ics, the debut of them along with Sniffles, they nail his tongue to the ground, use a cheese grater, a lemon slice, and an electrical saw, then the Baby Ant pours gasoline on it and with the Ant Mother using a match to light it up, causing Sniffles's upper body to explode.
  • In A Hard Act to Swallow, after one of children gets swallowed by Sniffles, the other ants retaliate by nailing him to the tree. After entering his body, they accidentally rip off his uvula, then tie up his arterias, causing anteater's heart to inflate with blood and burst, eventually breaking his chest.
  • In Suck It Up, one of children enters Sniffles's house (who was ill at this time) and steal his cookies, then offers him one just to yank it away and blow a raspberry at him. After the anteater makes a vacuum machine on his mouth, they throw some pins, and then pour acid, so he could swallow it and lose his mouth. While he walks back, they put a glass under his leg so he could fall and make his machine get turned on his head, causing it to swallow Sniffles's brain and then his entire body.
  • Most infamously of all, in Tongue in Cheek, when Sniffles placed his left hand inside their anthill, the Ant Mother rips one of his fingernails, then after they get him electrocuted by an outlet from outside, they take Sniffles's mind control helmet, to control Sniffles and made him take a bite out of a razor bladed apple, put his tongue in a paper shredder, nail him to the ground, tying his tongue to the propeller to the point of crying and painfully turning him, so he will fly in the air, making his insides fly out of his body.
    • To make matters even worse, they provide the infamous scene where they used his corpse to build a house for themselves, though admittedly Sniffles had destroyed their previous one.
• While Sniffles is trying to eat them, it doesn't justify what they do to him before they kill him, thus making their retaliations disproportionate.
• Their "aah!" voices can be very annoying at worst.
• They never receive any deaths unlike even Base Breaking Characters Lumpy, Pop, Flippy, and especially Splendid (who at least died twice despite his Invincibility, especially in Gems the Breaks), making them Karma Houdinis (and no, Blast From the Past doesn't count).

Trivia

• They eventually stopped appearing on Happy Tree Friends due to the crew running out of ideas on how to use them although many fans thought it was because of their actions in Tongue in Cheek.
• It's implied, though not confirmed, that Sniffles ate the father ant.
• They only appeared in one segment of the Happy Tree Friends TV series Tongue In Cheek. Coincidentally it's the last time they appear, as this episode was the most hated among fans.
