Taskmaster is the secondary antagonist of the 2021 superhero film, Black Widow.
She is the daughter and brainwashed bodyguard of General Dreykov who assists him and his pawns in a variety of terrorist activities.
She was portrayed by Olga Kurylenko when unmasked and Andy Lister when masked.
What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- She’s disliked for having almost nothing in common with her original counterpart, as instead of being a genius bounty hunter who seeks to prove his superiority to the Avengers, she is instead a minion to an original character who has no personality.
- In relation to the above point, she lacks the badass and Evil-Is-Cool attire that made Taskmaster such a popular villain in Marvel’s fanbase.
- Her character arc feels too similar to Winter Soldier’s, in which she is a brainwashed and tortured soldier who was thought to be dead.
- Fans think the fact that she survived Black Widow’s assassination attempt in the past ruined her subplot in Age of Ultron, which followed her coming to grips with killing a child.
- Due to the suit being fitted for a larger actor, when Olga Kurylenko wears the suit for the reveal, it looks awkward as the suit is too big for her.

- It’s possible her status could change in the upcoming Thunderbolts film where she will make a return. Or in worst case scenario, she will be killed off to show Sentry/The Void powers, dooming her to be scrappy forever.
