Sqweeks is a supporting character in the 2017 science fiction action film Transformers: The Last Knight.
He is a small Autobot and a friend of Izzy.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- First and foremost, the audience believes that he has no real purpose in the film other than to sell toys.
- The audience also believes little personality and adds nothing to the Autobot cast.
- Outside of destroying one gun, it's deemed that barely contributes anything to the film.
- His "cute" and "marketable" nature is often said to clash with the dark and gritty nature of the films.
- He was a complete jerk to Wheelie even if he did deserve it.
- Some people believe Hasbro was trying to cash-in on Star Wars hype by making Sqweeks a rip-off of BB-8, who already verges on base-breaking territory.
- At least BB-8 had a purpose, as he existed to pay homage to R2-D2. As mentioned above, Sqweeks' only exists for merchandizing opportunity.
- He looks nothing like the rest of the characters. His head is bigger than his body and his eyes appear to be the lights of his vehicle mode, which audiences did not like.
- While he has some heroic moments which prevents him from being a designated hero, his heroism is under Izabella’s orders and doesn’t make him any more likeable.
- While the Transformers Films do have their fans, most of them have nothing nice to say about anything in The Last Knight (with the exception of Steve Jablonsky’s soundtrack and some of the performances), Sqweeks included.
- He's so hated that there are practically zero demands for him to get a toy in the Studio Series line. Even Skids & Mudflap have people who want them to get figures.
