Hey! Listen! This article's empty. |
NOTE: This page specifically covers the M. Night Shyamalan interpretation of the character as the original Sokka is a very well-received character that is beloved by the great majority of the fandom. |
Sokka is the tritagonist of M. Night Shyamalan's infamous 2010 movie The Last Airbender based off of the popular Nickelodeon animated show Avatar: The Last Airbender.
He is played by Jackson Rathbone.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- Like Aang and Katara, Sokka is also whitewashed for no good reason. And like Aang, his name's pronunciation is also wrong as it is now "Soak-ka" instead of "Saw-ka". To add insult to injury, Hahn (who is supposed to be a joke of a person in his only appearance) pronounces Sokka's name the same way.
- Sokka is now also aged up by two years, as he is now 17 instead of 15.
- While the original, despite being a genius, is supposed to be the comic relief with his sarcastic sense of humor and sometimes being a total ham, this one is more serious and lacks his sarcastic comments, essentially taking away the part that Sokka's original version admitted was part of him. He also is somewhat stupid as opposed to the smarts the original had.
- In addition, Sokka was always funny, as his character arc revolves with him losing his bad qualities.
- While they did "try" to make some jokes, they overall weren't funny.
- In addition, they made Sokka a bit bloodthirsty.
- His boomerang now doubles as a club, an ability the original didn't even have.
- They screwed up his relationship with Yue, which made her sacrifice less tragic.
