~ She-Hulk's infamous quote |
Jennifer Sue Walters, also known as She-Hulk, is the titular main protagonist of the Disney+ miniseries She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
She is a lawyer and the cousin of Bruce Banner, also known as the Hulk. After she and Bruce suffered a car accident, his blood went into Jennifer's open wound, giving her similar abilities just like her cousin.
She is played by Tatiana Maslany.
What Makes Her A Scrappy?[]
- Compared to her fun and confident character in the comics, she has now become a selfish, man-hating, immature narcissist who cares more about being cute than helping people.
- Her CGI design is highly inadequate.
- While she does have a point in that being catcalled is a frustrating thing to have to deal with, she believes this means she has it way worse than her cousin, Bruce, does. In a manner of speaking, this is nothing compared to what Bruce has suffered through; having to live in constant fear over hurting others as the Hulk to the point of ending his relationship with his girlfriend, Betty Ross, losing some of his closest friends, and even severely injures his arm when he used the Nano Gauntlet to resurrect half of the universe.
- She is a very hypocritical person:
- She claims she's capable of controlling her anger way better than Bruce can, but in fact she can't control it at all and gets pissed off over the smallest things. Even Bruce had understandable and justified reasons to be pissed off.
- As mentioned above, Jen also has expressed a disliking towards men over catcalling women and only viewing them as objects, only to do the same thing to them by using her She-Hulk appearance for one-night stands. Following that up, she gets annoyed when they understandably aren't interested in her human appearance by the next day.
- She tells Daredevil he's only pretending to be blind and cites that's very messed up, even though making such ableist accusations proves she doesn't care whether or not peoples' actions are messed up or not, considering it's irrelevant since actions speaking louder than words.
- She considers the Avengers nothing more than a team of narcissists and orphans, even though they have constantly had to make big sacrifices to save the world and even the universe. Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff sacrificed herself to provide a better life for her friends and take another step towards saving half of the world, while Iron Man/Tony Stark fatally destroyed his body by using the Infinity Stones to defeat Thanos, Spider-Man/Peter Parker also made the very drastic decision of making everyone he's ever known and loved forget him for the sake of saving the multiverse.
- While it took Bruce years to control his anger and powers, Jen knows how to use her powers right off the bat, making her a Mary Sue. This also gives her the exact same problem as Jane Foster and Riri Williams, who instantly knew how to wield Mjonir and build Iron Man suits with flawless precision.
- She is the definition of the misandristic stereotype, believing that all men are sexist, shallow, incompetent, and unworthy of being in a relationship with women. Even if that was true in some cases, not all men are like that.
- She infamously twerked during a post-credit scene, which understandably was the last straw for several victims of superhero fatigue to cancel their subscriptions to Disney+.
- Unlike many other heroes in the MCU, she has never fought or faced any hardships in the past, which once again makes her complaints to Bruce over her life being more difficult compared to his null, void, and very laughable. Even Iron Fist had to face some tragedy in his life.
Trivia[]
- She was originally a Base-Breaking Character until she was re-approved as a Scrappy when it was found that her fans/defenders were far overshadowed and outnumbered by detractors.
