Shansa is a character who appears in the film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. She is a mysterious witch who helps others find hidden information about difficult tasks.
She was portrayed by Golshifteh Farahani.
What Makes Him A Scrappy[]
- Doesn't get as much hate as Scarfield but fans were understable not fond of another fan-favorite from the original trilogy era in this case Tia Dalma being replaced by a character that acomplished the exact same role in the movie without enough characterization to make her unique. Is even worse that Scarfield in this sense considering she only appears in two scenes.
- Some fans found her one scene with Barbossa to be simply a lazy way to give Barbossa the compass considering there's no explanation how she got it.
- A minor detail but Shansa being imprisoned in Saint Martin is also seen as a lazy way to keep the plot going so that Scarfield can find her and use her to get to the main characters yet the existence of a witch who isn't gonna be hanged is never acknoledged during Jack, Henry and Carina tenure in Saint Martin nor is Barbossa visiting the same place where the persons he's looking for are at the same time.
