~ Shane Dyson lecturing Cade for wanting to keep his daughter away from him. |
Shane Dyson is one of the tritagonists in Transformers: Age of Extinction (sharing his role with Drift).
He was portrayed by Jack Reynor in the fourth installment of the Transformers film series.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- He’s an ephebophile who dates Cade’s underage daughter and lectures him for telling him to stop.
- What makes this worse is that he started dating her when he was 17 and she was 14, making him a hebephile too.
- He brings up a picture of the Romeo and Juliet law in his wallet to defend him dating a minor despite the laws not protecting him from being arrested for indecent acts with a minor (With even Amazon Prime itself debunking the incorrect usage of the law in the movie's Trivia).
- The fact that he has this picture in his wallet implies that he has done this before and was planning to bring this up to Cade.
- When Cade tries to save his daughter, Shane stops him and shouts at him, this results in her getting accidentally kidnapped by Lockdown, who was trying to capture Optimus.
- What makes this worse was that Tessa nearly got cut in half by a robot in Lockdown’s ship, which could have possibly been prevented if Cade was allowed to save his daughter.
- He takes away screentime from more important characters like Bumblebee and Lockdown and provides no substance to the plot, as he isn’t funny enough to be comic relief.
- He isn’t actually heroic and never tries or does anything heroic apart from being nice.
- His comments and jokes about Cade are very obnoxious.
