~ Sarah's infamous quote. |
Sarah is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Kevin) of the Cartoon Network series, Ed, Edd n Eddy, and a supporting character in the 2009 film Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show. She is Ed's younger sister and one of the cul-de-sac kids who lives on the titular cul-de-sac with her brother and parents.
She was voiced by Janyse Jaud.
What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- Fans often despise her abusive and bratty behavior towards others, as she constantly abuses the Eds (especially her big brother Ed) mostly for no good reason, and this is somehow supposed to come across as funny given how she never gets any comeuppance, but given how she abuses the Eds for mostly no good reason as opposed to giving them karma like the others for their scams, fans find her mostly unpleasant to watch.
- She tends to overreact to several things most of them being petty such as when she lost a doll and Ed told her he did not have it, she started calling him a liar and beat him up along with Double D and Eddy who weren't even involved with this, and even overreacted to Ed playing with a paddle ball trying to tell on him for this, when in reality she could have told him to stop or move somewhere else (while this was a dream, this seems to be in character for her).
- She is awful to her family as she constantly mistreats Ed, despite the latter always being nice to her and respecting her, but she never seems to respect him back, not only that but she also seems to mooch off of her mother's kindness given how she asks for more allowances than Ed, despite her spoiled behavior.
- She hypocritically called out Ed for kicking her out of the house as he was rampaging because of a pebble in his shoe, despite the fact that Sarah constantly kicks Ed out of her house for more trivial reasons.
- Unlike the other love-to-hate kind of characters in the show like Eddy (who may be greedy, but isn't downright malicious and has a genuine friendship with the other Eds, and was this way because of abuse from his brother, making him believe that others will like him for his behavior), Kevin (Who may be abusive too, but at least has his genuine moments of kindness and is essentially a well-intentioned extremist who bullies the Eds for their scams), or even the Kankers (Who may be the main antagonists of the series, but are intentional hate sinks that are portrayed in the wrong for their deeds, have their occasional kind moments, genuinely do love the Eds, and have moral standards as shown towards the abuse Eddy's brother gives him), Sarah is mostly an abusive jerk that has no real motive for her actions, very few sympathetic qualities, but isn't meant to be a hate sink as she cares for Jimmy, and her abuse is meant to come across as funny, but instead comes across as a downright repulsive character who (while not without her fans) many fans tend to agree is the most hateable character in the show.
- Although she was considered more likable in the finale Ed, Edd, N Eddy's Big Picture Show by fans, this was already too late to make her a likable character as she had more haters than fans before this point and still isn't considered likable by fans.
