~ Robin King displaying his generic sadism and evilness. |
Robin King is a villain from DC Comics. He is an evil version of Bruce Wayne from the Dark Multiverse.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- He is overpowered beyond belief and any complaint on the Batman Who Laughs issue of having plot armour is taken up to eleven here. He managed to kill all the heroes in his world at age 10, despite lacking any training at the time which other versions of Batman had. This makes him look like a Villain Sue.
- Not to mention he managed to kill Alfred (who is a former MI6 secret agent) and was able to kill a gun-armed Joe Chill by slitting his throat with a hidden blade, all while being only a child, which is just plain ridiculous.
- Unlike the other evil Batmen, no explanation is given to how he became evil, instead being born evil. This comes off as lazy writing as he lacks any of the interesting backstories that made the other Dark Knights popular in the first place.
- Although the Batman Who Laughs is already a Base-Breaking Character, he displayed some Evil is Cool moments, some explanation to why he is like this, and even had a sympathetic backstory (even if he completely subverted it later on). Robin King lacks these positive qualities and his characterization doesn't differ enough from Laughs, making him a rather poor copy.
- He is extremely edgy in the over-the-top ways, having killed his pets, his own parents, Alfred, and the Justice League, all for fun. His sadism isn't even given any reasoning at all. Overall, he comes across as less of a character in official media and more of a Ron the Death Eater original character in a fanfic.
- With the amount of hype he got as Scott Snyder's favorite character, even being the only Dark Knight to survive the Darkest Knight's purge, he is basically a Creator's Pet.
