Richard De Longpre is a protagonist in the short-lived animated series Allen Gregory. He is Allen Gregory's father and has spoiled him, while also abusing his "life partner" Jeremy and anyone else he comes in contact with.

He was voiced by French Stewart.

What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]

  • Like his son, he's meant to be funny and enjoyable despite being an obnoxious person with little to no redeeming traits.
  • He's a terrible father and has raised Allen to be as obnoxious and manipulative as he is, and even encourages Allen's horrible behavior.
  • He's narcissistic and constantly wants to be the center of attention.
  • It's heavily implied that he stalked and bullied Jeremy into marrying him, despite Jeremy being straight and having a family of his own. It's even implied that he's raped Jeremy.
  • He's a ridiculously incompetent worker and his company gave him a made-up position just to keep him out of the way and give him the illusion that he has any role in running the company.
  • He adopted Julie just to get social admiration but doesn't care about her and treats her horribly, even telling her he won't believe she has any friends unless she brings them over in person.
  • He's a racist who reinforces similar views in his son.
  • He seems to be a high-functioning sociopath as he has no morals and admits that he always sees honesty as a last resort.
  • Like Allen, he rarely receives any comeuppance for his actions.
