Puggsy is a major character in Tom and Jerry: The Movie.
He was voiced by Ed Gilbert.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- While his motive of getting Tom and Jerry to work together is understandable as they wouldn’t survive otherwise, he convinces them to talk. This breaks the formula of Tom and Jerry cartoons, as Tom and Jerry do not communicate on this matter as they are not normally talking animals.
- His overly whimsical nature comes across as too saccharine and sappy to the point that he comes across as a one-dimensional character who's only trait is just being a pacifist, which is very unfitting for a franchise focused on chaotic, mischievous slapstick like Tom and Jerry.
- His design and personality are too charming, sympathetic and positive for the franchise, since Tom and Jerry are well-known for engaging in the constant mischief.
Trivia[]
- Due to his unpopularity, he has only appeared in Tom and Jerry: The Movie.
