Patroklos Alexander (パトロクロス・アレクサンドル) is the main protagonist of Soulcalibur V. He is reference in Soulcalibur III, but marks himself as a playable character in Soulcalibur V. Throughout the game, he seeks to find his lost sister, Pyrrha, with the assistance of Graf Dumas but after finding out he was tricked and that his sister is corrupted by Souledge, he works with Siegfried's group to defeat Dumas and free his sister. Patroklos is the son of the Soul series veteran, Sophitia Alexandera.
What lies in his soul is Dedication. He is referred as Heir To The Title of Holy Warrior in the game's promotion material.
He is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal in the English dub and Ken'ichirō Ōhashi in the Japanese dub.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- Many fans criticized Patroklos for being the main focus in the story while everyone else including the new generation of fighters are not. He is always presented as the hero even though most of his actions are pretty bad. For example, the game starts with him killing innocent civilians, who are rebelling against his master, Graf Dumas.
- Though he was manipulated into thinking of them as malfested, it doesn't change the fact he ignores the many pleas of their suffering and asking him to stop by telling him that they are not malfested. At one point, Patroklos randomly labels a vagrant to be malfested, when the man begs that he is not a malfested, Patroklos responds saying "How unfortunate there's no way to prove it", with the accompanying story artwork drawing Patroklos with a smile as he kills the vagrant.
- He kills his corrupted sister with the Soulcalibur without regretting the action.
- Patroklos replace a fan favorite character, Sophitia, who is dead in the series without any explanation from the game itself.
- His characterization has been criticized of being annoying as he is very smug about his abilities and displays arrogance to any opponents he fights. Patroklos is also very preachy about his self-righteousness.
- His relationship with his sister is very weird as Patroklos sounds obsess with her and the way he expresses it sounds creepy like he is in a love story. The narrative's treatment of their relationship has led people to jokingly call them the "incest twins".
- His story has been criticized for being rushed and having no development as he remains same from beginning to end of the story.
- At some point, he goes back in time to save his sister from Souledge as a way to make up for killing her, which contradicts the game stating that he did not regret killing her. The time travel idea is also never explained.
- Almost everything about his move set is unoriginal since half of his moves are copied from his mother. And his transformation into Alpha Patroklos is him emulating Setsuka, another beloved character. The game explains that he is expressing his "true self" even though he is copying someone else's moveset like he did previously.
- Patroklos is so hated that his existence has almost ended the Soul series and leading it to be rebooted. While at that, his existence is seen as a threat to the new timeline of the series in Cassandra's story mode for Soulcalibur VI, where she was warned by her counterpart from the original timeline.

- To emphasize Patroklos's Scrappy status, a popularity poll was conducted on Twitter where Patroklos only received 37 votes out of 10,000, earning him one of the lowest spots.
- Despite the criticisms to his character, fans do like his design and found some enjoyment in playing as him.
