Orko is a supporting character from the 1983 Filmation TV series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. He is a member of a blue race called Trollans from the planet Trolla.
He is voiced by the executive producer of the series, Lou Scheimer.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- His intended purpose as comic relief was redundant, as the show already had enough amusing moments (i.e. Skeletor's hissy fits and interactions with his cronies).
- He was never a part of the original Masters of the Universe toyline from Mattel, having been created by Filmation to appear exclusively in the cartoon.
- His presence kills the balance between silly and serious throughout the cartoon, hardly leaving any room for the latter.
- His voice is high pitched and irritating, almost like he has been gargling liquified helium.
- He tends to piss Man-at-Arms off with his bumbling.
- Ever since the Filmation cartoon came into existence, he has become an integral part of the Masters of the Universe franchise, which is an insult to the brand considering his origin.
