Mr and Mrs Oohashi are minor characters in Persona 3, acting as the overarching protagonists of the "Hanged Man" Social Link.
They are the parents of the 9 year old Maiko Oohashi who have gone through a messy divorce, unknowingly causing their daughter a lot of stress and self doubt. This culminates in the player getting involved after befriending Maiko.
What Makes Them Scrappies?[]
- They are viewed as irresponsible parents to Maiko by players, since constantly neglected her to focus on their divorce (hence why she is always seen outside), push her away when she tries to ask them what’s wrong, and the dad is revealed to have slapped her at one point, which the mom blamed her for. While this was meant to portray them as flawed, it worked too well and caused many players to see them as neglectful and irresponsible parents. The fact that their divorce can go on for months depending on how long it takes the player to complete the Social Link made some players criticize them even more.
- A major criticism they receive is that they are never punished for their behavior and instead disappear once the Link ends. The only time they are called out is when the player suggests the idea that they caused it to them, which they quickly brush off and ignore.
- Despite initially disliking Makoto in Persona 3 for suspecting him of being a groomer, the Dad is perfectly willing to flirt with the underaged Kotone in Reload, which came off as hypocritical to the fanbase, as well as creepy.

- The Dad is usually the more hated of the two due to his aforementioned slapping to Maiko, his flirting with Kotone, and the Link canonically ending with Maiko in his care.
- They are unique among Persona's other Scrappies, in that they aren’t Social Links (they are instead related to one) and they are rarely interacted with outside of the "Hanged Man" Link.
