The Mayor of Metro City is a major character of Megamind Vs. The Doom Syndicate and a minor character in Megamind Rules!. Unlike the original, the Mayor is bad at his job of protecting the city, and is very lazy.
He is voiced by Roger Craig Smith.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- Due to Stephen Kearin not reprising his role as the Mayor his voice sounds like Admiral Beaverton and Happosai from Ranma and it doesn’t even sound like his voice in the original film.
- Fans of the original were quick to notice that although the Mayor shows respect to Megamind at the end of the first film, he's severely lacking that respect (although, in all fairness, Megamind has caused more chaos than he has solved as a hero, making his dislike towards him somewhat understandable). They took a hefty disliking to this change since he at least appeared to have character development, but the sequel forgot it. He also seems lazier than before, whereas in the first movie he seemed more worried than neglectful.
- His design is considered so ugly and terrible to look at throughout the film despite in the first his design wasn’t even that ugly.
- He appears to be lazy and doesn’t do his job of protecting Metro City which fans were angry at this change.
- Though he did rightfully get angry at Megamind for ruining Metro City it was actually his fault also for not protecting the city. Fans found this to be very hypocritical of him, since he's the mayor but doesn't act like one they'd regard as good.
