Mayor Saunders is the mayor of Norville óer Morgania. He's a secondary character of the 2021 direct to DVD movie Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob.
What Makes Him A Scrappy?[]
- He's treated in the movie as a reasonable authority figure that simply wanted to make sure he would conserve the land he was a mayor of, but the mediums he took to do that would qualify him in any other Scooby-Doo movie or show as the culprit of the case.
- He knocked out, kidnapped and trick Mystery Incorporated to believe they were in the Medieval times and make a very elaborate plan to trick Shaggy into giving up his right to reclaim the town, all of which is very much gaslighting and illegal and would normally make him the main villain and the guy being arrested but the movie glosses over all of these as desperate measures.
- All of these could have been averted if he simply asked Shaggy if he wanted the land, as Shaggy never even implied he was interested.
- Mrs. Wentworth, the character that is actually arrested was actually working for him in the scheme and is only considered the true culprit because she decided at the last minute to do exactly what he was going to do in her favor, but the fact the mayor created the plan in the first place is glossed over and he never receives any consequences for his actions.
- He gets exactly what he wanted because Shaggy didn't want to rule the land in the first place.
