Mark Blaine, also known as Chillblaine, is a minor antagonist in the Arrowverse show The Flash.
He is the late Frost's girlfriend and a possible love interest for Khione. While a former villain who tried to frame Frost, he later worked with Team Flash while dating her until her death. He betrayed the team to Red Death, but backed out.
What makes him a Scrappy?[]
- He was perceived as an unnecessary character that was only added to be Frost's boyfriend and as a sexy character. He still was kept around and made a regular character after Frost's death despite having little to contribute.
- His attempts to flirt with Frost come across as creepy.
- When Frost was about to kiss him after they defeated the Godspeed clones, he escaped.
- Throughout Season 8 and the first episodes of Season 9 he did not truly change despite becoming Team Flash's ally and only worked with them to be Frost's boyfriend. He only redeemed himself for real after preventing Barry from empowering Red Death, and it was too late into the series to make the character likable.
- He was a replacement of sorts to Captain Cold by being a redeemed villain related to ice, but lacks the traits that made him beloved, like his complexity or wittiness.
- The negative reaction to the character is acknowledged when Damien Darhk called him Chill-Lame in Armageddon, Red Death's rogues mock his outfit and Khione rebuked him for trying to turn her into Frost.
