Mark Cahill, Kelly Cortlandt, and Scott Waugh are minor one-off characters from the Community episode "The Art of Discourse". They were three high schoolers taking a few courses at Greendale Community College for extra credit.
Scott was portrayed by Dean Colins, Kelly was played by Jillian Rose Reed, and Mark was played by Jared Kusnitz.
What Makes Them Scrappies?[]
- A weird example, they were meant to be hateable and annoying as they are spoiled brats who constantly mock Jeff and Britta for having ended up in a community college and presume about their academic success but it worked too well for the episode's own good and fans didn't found them annoying but amusing simply founding them so annoying they were absolutely obnoxious with the jokes around their subplot simply not being good enough to make their screentime bearable and to many fans it ruined a perfectly good episode with an awful subplot.
- On top of being annoying, fans found their scenes to be extremely repetitive, with the teenagers simply appearing and taunting the characters with whatever they were doing or wearing in their respective scene and when the group gives them any counter arguments, they will just repeat what they say in a mocking tone.
- They also lack any good lines that would allow their screentime to be amusing.
- Some feel they would still have worked if they would have got their desserts at the end but the last thing we know about them is that they all got into prestigious universities and have successful careers (although Mark got his medical license revoked later on) which make viewers even more frustrated.
