What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- In season 1, before the tragedy happened to her family, she was an annoying comic relief character who know to be whiny and foppish teenager.
- In season 2, she supposed to be seen as a tragic character who misguided by revenge and being manipulated by Ribbons. While its easy we can see she did got brainwashed by him, since she willingly joined the A-Laws as opposed to being forced as part of Ribbon's plan, it is up to interpretation about how many of her morally gray actions are a result of brainwashing and how many of them are her own choice. making is hard for viewer to sympathize with her.
- Fully support A-LAWS extremist ideology by believe anyone who refuse of unity on federation and Innovator deserve to be killed. To the point she became their top financier to fund their Mobile Suits and weaponry.
- Since she was their main financier and treated courteously by higher ups, Louise act like demanding brat in A-LAWS. She tries to demand to Captain Zinin to allow her in next mission despite her failure in first one, wanted to know her superior intention to stop searching Gundam for temporary, angrily dislike Commander Katagiri decision for didn't allow her team to be part of Katharon massacre and demand Colonel Mannequin to allow her piloting Soma's Ahead Smultron for sake to avenge her "death". While she already bratty with Saji during her teenage years, at least still able understand him. Her demands toward A-LAWS higher-ups make her so entitled.
- Her quest of revenge and conflict with Saji overtook most of the plot of Season 2, taking time away from other characters that may have benefited more from getting their stories explained, leading viewers to see her as biggest spotlight stealer character in series.
- Try to kill Saji Crossroad just because he gently reminds her to move on from the tragedy and believe he was side with Celestial Being, an organization that she believes responsible for killing her family.
- She intended to be the series resident "Four Murasame expy" character (a tragic female character who is mentally unstable, being manipulated by military, piloted a gigantic mecha and being love interest of main hero). However, unlike the previous character who share same trait with her, fans see this decision is too forced. She is, however, ended become Expy of Quess Paraya from Char's counterattack.
- Despite the similarity with Quess, unlike her, is intentionally being hate-sink, scrappy character and received most satisfied death. Meanwhile Louise is supposed to be seen as tragic and misguided villainess who get manipulated by Ribbons.
- Unlike the previous "Four Murasame expy" characters, who were genuinely tragic but still had meaningful depth and engaging antagonist, Louise in season 2 is flip-flop being grumpy, whiny, aggressive mood-swinger and yet is mediocre antagonist. While some of them did a zealous member of antagonistic military force, this mainly because they were raised to be part of them. Louise from Season 1 had huge and happy family instead of being raised as lab-rat of Supersoldier, meaning that Louise supposed to has more moral compass that the previous "Four Murasame expy" characters despite being misguided. Soma Peries/Marie Parfacy, a character from same series, who closed and subversion of the Expy, is ironically has more moral compass than Louise.
- She supposed to seen as atoner in the end of season 2 by making up the crazy stuff of what already she done as A-LAWS financier because she still traumatized and loss majority of her family fortune due to either to be given, or perhaps confiscated, to fund rebuilding efforts, and some of them for her hospital bills. However, this only mention in side-material and never brought up in canon anime or movie, making her still consider easily forgiven and Karma Houdini at worse.
Trivia[]
- Despite being one of scrappies, her killing Nena Trinity in Season 2 is still praised by majority of fandom as "Rescued from The Scrappy Heap" moment. Although the narrative painted Louise action as meaningless since her revenge can't bring back her family back, since Nena is not only the bigger Scrappy but also Hate-Sink character, viewer still satisfied of Louise action and feel that Nena deserved to most painful death by Louise.
- This moment also placed 17th in "Top 20 Brutal Anime Overkill" in Watchmojo.
