Lavender is the overarching antagonist of the animated series High Guardian Spice.
She is Rosemary’s mother and a respected guardian who disappeared from her friends and family years ago. In the last episode, however, she is revealed to be alive and working for the Triumvirate.
She was voiced by Liisa Lee.
What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- She is hyped up as a valiant and determined guardian, but she is never seen doing anything that would earn this respect, with her swordsmanship only appearing once.
- She is stated many times to be a legendary guardian, but no one seems to recognize her daughter or recall a victorious moment, making her seem uneventful.
- Her dialogue is very dull and painful to listen to.
- She is primarily seen through flashbacks, which have been criticized by many for being extremely vague in developing the plot and Lavender’s personality.
- Like the other characters, her design is very simple and feels like a tumblr OC.
- Her appearances are forced into the series for the sake of making Rosemary more sympathetic and doesn’t develop Lavender’s character.
- Liisa Lee does a poor job voicing her and usually just sounds like she’s bored all the time.
- Her twist as a villain is a very cliché and predictable twist that feels like it was done to ensure a second season of the series.
- The twist was also easy to see coming due to how she was constantly described as flawless and the evil vines scene.
- Her twist also implies that she is willingly helping her former enemies try to kill Rosemary, making Rosemary’s arc of using her mother as an example for how to be a good person essentially pointless.
Trivia[]
- She is the only High Guardian Spice Scrappy to be connected to four other Scrappies.
