Lauren Paups is a minor antagonist in the video game, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.
She is a maid for the Amano family and the girlfriend of the son, Lance Amano. After Lance gets into a lot of debt, she agrees to help him extort money from his father by faking his kidnapping.
What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- She is a one-note character whose main character trait is that she falls in love with men like Lance and Miles immediately after meeting them, often stopping what she’s doing just to gush about them.
- She has very little presence in the case until the end and only makes two short appearances before that. The appearances themselves don’t do much besides hint at Oliver's true identity.
- The game doesn’t explain why Lauren is in love with Lance considering his arrogant personality and casual willingness to throw her under the bus.
- While her situation is a tragic one, as she was manipulated by her boyfriend to help him in his scheme and later thinks she killed Oliver Deacon, who was later revealed to be her father, a lot of her sympathy falls flat considering her lack of remorse for her actions. She showed no hesitation to help Lance and was willing to take the fall for him and only shown to have genuinely regretted killing Oliver after learning that he was her father.
- Despite confessing to her crimes and interfering with an interpol investigation, she gets away with all her actions as revealed by the credits.
