The Kiss Players are the titular protagonists from the controversial Transformers storyline of the same name, which is apart of the Japanese Generation 1 Continuity.
They are a group of super powered girls who can merge with the Transformers with Parasitech technology via kissing them, they would later form a pop group with some Transformers to promote positive relationships with humans and Transformers.
What Makes Then Scrappies?[]
- The infamous kissing scenes with the Transformers shown in the Manga have received many criticisms, since many saw it as creepy and uncomfortable.
- A major criticism they receive is that despite being adults they all look like children, which made many people feel uncomfortable with them being sexualized, like being shown in suggestive clothing or naked at times and with panty shots being shown of them. The only character that looks like a actual adult is Hitoshizuku Amaō who isn't even a Kiss Player.
- They are the main reason why Kiss Players is so infamous due to their sexualized nature.
- While the 15 Go Go Go! stories are less sexualized, they still received criticisms.
- While the Kiss Players characters Marissa Fareborn, Shaoshao Li and Atari Hitotonari would be rescued Scrappies thanks to their appearances in the Legends Manga being better received, the Kiss Players concept and their other remaining members still get criticized.
Trivia[]
- They and Jan Minakaze are the only Scrappies in the Japanese Generation 1 Continuity.
- Three of their members aren’t considered Scrappies since their role in the Legends manga was received better than their appearance in Kiss Players when compared to the characterization of the other members.
