~ Kaebora Gaepora asking Link to repeat what he already said. |
Rauru, known by the player as Kaepora Gaebora, is a supporting character in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. A wise and mighty owl, Kaepora Gaebora provides Link with information.
What makes him a Scrappy?[]
- While Nintendo created Kaepora Gaebora to provide Link with some valuable information, most of his dialogue is tedious and goes on for way too long.
- Most of the information he gives Link, such as how to bring up the map, breaks the immersion of the game for the player.
- Due to how boring Kaepora Gaebora's dialogue is, if the player decides to skip it, there's a chance that they could accidentally restart the conversation all over again.
- After Kaepora Gaebora finishes his conversation, he asks if you got everything or if you'd like him to repeat himself. The dialogue options that restart the conversation is the top option which the cursor points towards, to which many players have unfortunately ended up making him repeat his long, tedious walls of texts.
- Similar to Navi, Kaepora Gaebora is an annoying video game sidekick. Unlike Navi, who does have a few defenders who think the hatred towards her might be a bit overblown, Kaepora Gaebora didn't receive that treatment due to how tedious, boring, and immersion breaking the information he gives link is.
Trivia[]
- Though he's a scrappy in Ocarina of Time, his counterpart in Majora's Mask is better liked, as he only appears twice, is helpful to Link by letting him use the Owl Statues, not being annoying or intrusive, and actually gives useful information.
