He is meant to be deliciously subversive, but everyone correctly sees him as the most laughably inaccurate Joker who not only is horrible to poor Harley but also looks more like Marilyn Manson than his comic book counterpart.

The Joker is a major antagonist of the 2016 DC Extended Universe film Suicide Squad and has an alternate universe version serving as a grey character in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

He was portrayed by Jared Leto.

What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]

He is universally viewed as the most inaccurate version of the Joker imaginable, as well as Jared Leto being considered the worst portrayal of the Joker yet.
His design is seen as very awful, with all the tattoos and scars having caused people to compare him to Marilyn Manson after having had a particularly rough day at work, and it makes it hard to believe this is supposed to be the chillingly attractive man who stole and corrupted Harleen Quinzel's heart and led her into villainy in the first place.
While his alternate timeline version shows a pittance of depth, it's correctly viewed as way too little about half a decade too late. He also laughs when an Anti-Life-controlled Superman arrives and doesn't even try to defend himself out of sheer stupidity.
He has no redeeming aspects whatsoever. The most positive thing you can say is that at least he admits that he is simply not the kind of character who is loved instead of deluding himself or being in denial.
Even people who like Suicide Squad mostly find him to be a big disappointment.

Trivia[]

Despite his hated status, some fans found his portrayal in the Snyder Cut to be slightly better than in Suicide Squad due to lacking much of his bizarre characteristics and being more intimidating.
It is reported that, behind the scenes, Jared Leto partook in bizarre "method acting" schemes, where he frequently terrorized the members of the cast with weird gifts (such as sex toys, used condoms and even a severed pig's head). This weird behavior is oftentimes cited as a reason as to why many dislike Leto's portrayal of the character.
While he is a Scrappy his ex Harley Quinn is a Main Light Horse, going to show just how different he is from her.
