Iggy is a minor character from the TV show Hey Arnold!. For most of the series, Iggy was one of the more memorable background characters of the show, being described as the coolest kid in Arnold's class. However rose to infamy upon his only starring appearance in 'Arnold Betrays Iggy.'
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- He’s criticized due to his only starring role, "Arnold Betrays Iggy", in which he accuses Arnold of ruining his reputation after word gets out that he wears bunny pyjamas, which was meant to just be a secret between him and Arnold. Despite Arnold going out of his way to do all of Iggy's chores to make up and prove hes sorry, he still does not choose to forgive Arnold and reveals he never intended to forgive him in the first place. This made the episode extremely disliked among viewers due to Iggy’s behavior. Said behavior is also considered 'Misplaced Retribution,' since Sid and Stinky were the ones who got the secret public after Arnold accidentally told them.
- He caused arguably the show's most infamous scene, in which Arnold is forced to go out in front of Hillwood in the bunny pyjamas to prove he really is sorry, causing Arnold to be laughed at and humiliated by the entire neighbourhood.
- Even though Iggy eventually realises what really happened and tries to apologise to Arnold, fans felt it was far too late for Iggy to redeem himself, especially since Arnold ultimately refused to forgive Iggy for everything he put him through.
- The unanimous hate towards 'Arnold Betrays Iggy' single-handedly turned Iggy into one of Hey Arnold's most hated characters. The hate towards him was so bad in fact that Iggy was never given a major role in episodes again, and returned to being a background character for the rest of the series.
