Ichiro Miki (三木一郎 Miki Ichirō) is a child character created by Toho who appears and acts as the main character of the 1969 Godzilla film All Monsters Attack. Ichiro is a boy living in the polluted Kawasaki district of Tokyo who gets bullied which leads him to imagine himself interacting with Minilla and the rest of the Kaijus of Monster Island.

He was played by Tomonori Yazaki.

What Makes Him A Scrappy?

• For once, he's the main protagonist of the infamous All Monsters Attack, almost universally considered the worst Godzilla movie or at least the worst of the Showa Era.
• While main human characters in Kaijus movies tend to be controversial among audiences, most cases had a balance between kaijus and human story. All Monsters Attack is infamously mostly stock footage and since the movie happens in a different more realistic universe that the rest of the series where Godzilla is a fictional character it means all of the Kaiju action happens inside his head, making him the ultimate Spotlight Stealer of any Kaiju movie.
• Kids in Kaijus movies tend to be hated for fans finding them annoying, Ichiro is not exception.
• Even when the Kaijus appear (again mostly as stock footage), the focus is still in the way he reacts to them and how it works with his situation in the real life.
• He's seen as a poor atempt to make a child-pandering protagonist and also as the point where the franchise had become way too childish for his own good.
• Most of his sequences imagining himself in Monster Island involve him interacting with a talking Minilla and getting inspired by Godzilla to stand up to his bullies which is extremely corny and bizarrely out of place for this series, specially for a franchise who was originally of themes as serious as the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
• A minor one but Ichiro considering Minilla his favorite monster is seen by some fans as character shilling considering in real life Minilla is one of the biggest base-breakers monsters of the series.
• Is hard to have sympathy for Ichiro getting bullied considered that after gaining Gabara's respect he becomes a bully himself. He decides to prank an innocent painter who had nothing to do with the bullying and was just minding his own business by scaring him off his ladder, something that could have seriously injured him and is treated by the narrative as the character learning to stand up.
