Gotenks is a supporting character in the Dragon Ball franchise.
He is the fusion of Goten and Trunks who wants to protect the universe like his friends, but is often cocky and arrogant when fighting his opponents.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- To put it bluntly simple, he is, at his core, an annoying, rude and bratty jerk who ruins the good name and image of Goten and Trunks (or at least in this manner Goten since Trunks is arguably no better and is pretty much the reason why Gotenks is like this), always thinks so high of himself and is hardly ever shown trying to be respectful towards anyone. Piccolo has a very good reason for calling him a brat and he isn't wrong about that for a second.
- He has an annoyingly high voice that is quite grating and he comes up with a bunch of dumb one-liners and names for his attacks, such as "Die-Die Missile Barrage" and "Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack", which no one really cares about.
- He's enormously reckless and stupid, with examples being pretending to run out of attacks so he could show off to Piccolo, which led to Super Buu escaping the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and killing everyone on Kami's Lookout and knocking an energy ball towards his friends during his fight with Abo and Cado. It's because of his reckless behaviour that the heroes banned him from entering fights.
- Additionally, during the latter fight, when this happened, the only thing that came out of his mouth was "Oops", which royally pisses everyone off, showing that Gotenks doesn't think before he talks.
- He has not once won a fight he has been in ever. He tends to get so carried away and think he's the strongest in the universe, when it's abundantly clear he is far from that, which in turn allows his opponents to gain the upper hand and toss him around like a ragdoll, which is hugely embarrassing and humiliating.
- The only "fight" he's won so far was against Tagoma, and even this doesn't count because no one saw this coming and Gotenks wasn't even supposed to be there.
- The whole purpose of his character is to be a comic relief, though he comes off more as an annoying and disrespectful brat, which makes it incredibly hard for him to be taken seriously like other characters in the franchise, considering how it's filled to the brim with powerful, badass characters.
