Goofball John McGee is a one-shot character from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. He appears in the episode "Imposter's Home for Um... Make 'Em Up Pals". Despite looking human, he is actually an Imaginary Friend created by John Larry McGee.
He is voiced by Tom Kenny.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- Much like with Bendy, Goofball is considered one of the most hated characters in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. And just like with Bendy, Goofball's most glaring issue is his horrible mistreatment towards Frankie and not receiving any sort of comeuppance for his misdeeds.
- Goofball is also a lazy slacker. He had Frankie do his dirty clothing, had her do his homework for him, and eats up the food at Fosters.
- Speaking of, when Goofball ends up eating all the food at Fosters, Frankie suggested that they order some takeout, but Mr. Herriman denied her suggestion and send her to go buy more food with her own money. And after she got back from doing this, they decided to order some pizza anyway because that's what Goofball suggested to which Frankie had to pay for as well.
- The whole episode really makes you want to believe that Goofball was a fraud who only got into Fosters just to get free food, especially with the clown nose he wears. When in reality he's only wearing it to conceal his elephant trunk.
- In fact, the original pitch for this episode was that Goofball was supposed to be a 30-year-old man pretending to be an imaginary friend, but Cartoon Network executives saw the pitch and told Lauren Faust to change Goofball to an imaginary friend and a teenager instead to help him seem a lot more relatable.
- Although he does give gratitude towards Frankie for taking care of him before he leaves with his creators, this is not enough for most viewers to stop hating him for how he behaved throughout the episode prior to the reveal.
- And just like with Bendy, Goofball was never seen again in the series after his debut episode.
