August Heart, also known as Godspeed, is a minor antagonist in the fifth season of The Flash and the main antagonist of "The Godspeed Imperative", an arc of the seventh season of the same show.
He is a speedster villain from the future who is obsessed with getting organic speed and becoming the "God of Speed".
He was portrayed by Kindall Charters in Season 5 and Karan Oberoi since Season 7.
What makes him a Scrappy?[]
- He was downgraded from a major Flash antagonist in the comics to Nora West-Allen's first villain.
- He repeats the plot of wanting to become faster from Zoom and the self-perception as a God of Speed from Savitar, but unlike these villains, he lacks the aspects that made people like them.
- The civil war of clones that want to surpass Godspeed or help him steal his speed amounted to nothing due to Godspeed absorbing them.
- After being introduced properly, he ends up as a character without any kind of complexity.
- The attempt to have him as an amnesiac person that doesn't want to hurt anybody fails to give him depth due to ultimately having no relevance after Barry travels to his mind and gives him organic speed.
- The exaggerated reactions of him after recovering his memories make him lose the seriousness factor his pre-Crisis version or his clones had. He also recites things in Punjabi for no reason.
- He was so bland as a villain that Thawne easily surpasses him in presence when he is reconstituted by the Speed Force.
- He had the same characterization when Cobalt Blue takes him from the future to destroy the timeline.
