“ | I desire only to rule Hoshido. I, and those who follow me, will do whatever it takes to achieve that. I don't care if the peons that fill our towns don’t trust us. They are nothing to me. Those who disobey will die. The rest will quickly learn. | „ |
~ Garon |
Garon is a major antagonist from Fire Emblem Fates. He the main antagonist in both Birthright and Conquest. And is a secondary antagonist in Revelation.

Garon is voiced by Travis Willingham in Fire Emblem Fates. And Patrick Seitz in Fire Emblem Heroes.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- The story goes out of its way to tell you that Garon was once this fair and stern king once loved by his own people has fallen from grace. Instead where only told this by both Xander and Leo, and we never got to see this side of Garon. We never once saw him as this honorable ruler he once was. Instead all the time we did see Garon, he portrayed as this cold hearted monster with no redeeming qualities.
- And more confusingly, according to Gunther's support with Corrin, Garon was always an abusive tyrant, whom inflicted emotional and physical abuse on a toddler Corrin, whilst also keeping him isolated and locked in a small room.
- Even we ignoring his supposed good side of him, Garon is not an interesting villain. Every time he appears Garon is ether going to barking out orders to his children and his henchmen, or threatening to kill them if they don’t obey his every command.
- Everytime Garon sentences Corrin to death, nothing ever gets accomplish.
- In Chapter 2 Gift of Ganglari Garon orders Xander to kill Corrin, after they refused to kill both Kaze and Rinkah. Leo had to step in and weaken Kaze and Rinkah to trick Garon into thinking he killed them both to save Corrin.
- Or how about in Chapter 7 A Dragon's Decree where Garon once again orders Xander to kill Corrin, suspecting them to be a Hoshidan spy. Xander refuses to kill Corrin and Garon does nothing about it, instead he calls out to Anankos and and let him decide whether to let Corrin back in the Nohrian royal family or not. Which Anankos agrees on the former.
- He is so incompetent that he get manipulated by Iago (his own retainer) and even his own children.
- Garon also make Xander look out of character sometimes. Xander also comes up with excuses as to why his father is acting like this.
- Probably the most infamous example is in Birthright Chapter 26 Xander. Where Xander draws out his sword and is ready to kill Corrin, until Elise steps in to take the kill blow. In her dying moments Elise bag Xander to stop all of this fighting and trying to make peace with Hoshido. After she dies Xander still stands by with Garon and draws out his sword against Corrin. Ultimately going against Elise very last wishes and still fight for Garon until the end.
- Despite being this big major threat Garon barely appears at all in Revelation. And when he does finally show up, he gets instantly killed off by Anankos.
- Garon has been heavily hated by fans of Fire Emblem for being one of the big problem with Fire Emblem Fates story. He's not only a contender for worst villain of the franchise, but one of the worst characters in the whole series.
