NOTE: This page is only on the anime adaptation of Faba, as his game counterpart is not considered a Scrappy. |
Faba is the secondary antagonist of Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon, an adaptation of Pokémon: Sun and Moon and overall the 20th season of the first Pokémon series.
Like his game counterpart, he is a scientist and a high ranking member of the Aether Foundation. Prior to the series, he traumatized Lillie and erased her memories, but when she and Ash begin investigating her amnesia, Faba begins a scheme to stop them while also furthering his own career.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- He was changed to be one of the major antagonists of the anime, which resulted in him stealing the roles from villains that originated from the games, such as Guzma or Lusamine, both of whom are well liked as villains.
- In spite of his added villainy, he is an uninteresting villain, as he lacks the motivation of Guzma or the intelligence of Lusamine, instead being too incompetent and clumsy to be taken seriously as a villain.
- He has done many evil actions such as traumatizing Lillie, throwing Ash's Rowlet, endangering Ash and his friends, and later trying to pin the blame on his boss Lusamine, and yet he is easily forgiven by Ash and his friends and isn’t arrested or punished for his crimes.
- While he claims to have felt remorse for his actions, we don’t actually see this onscreen, making it lack the genuine sense of remorse.
Trivia[]
- His game counterpart doesn’t count as a Scrappy due to being more of a bumbling henchman rather than the main villain in the anime. He additionally didn’t receive much focus on his actions, making his redemption feel less forced.
