Eltariel is a major character in the 2017 video game Middle-earth: Shadow of War and the main protagonist and playable character in the story expansion, The Blade of Galadriel.
She is voiced by Laura Bailey.
What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- Although Eltariel has good intentions such as holding back the Nazgûl and helping and saving Tailon up until the last mission. Her bad writing made her comes off as an arrogant elf who fans declared to be as evil as Sauron after the latter betrayal Tailon and left him for death so that she can help Celebrimbor fight Sauron with people rejoicing when Sauron cut her fingers off.
- Her personality is considered flat compared to the other characters in the game, especially the NPC/Nemesis Orcs all who have unique and fun personalities.
- She comes off as a hypocrite by fans in both the base game and DLC. For example, she stated that her goal is to hunt down any Nazgul but when Tailon actually kills a Nazgûl, she leaves him to die.
- In the DLC, she also gets high and mighty about Tailon wearing Isildur's ring making fans be annoyed by her, who sees her as being condescending and attempting to getting high on the moral-ground over Tailon. it also doesn't help the fact that Tailon hasn't called her out on her actions.
- She states that she refused to dominate any orcs despite the fact that prior to this, she attempts to help Celebrimbor conquer Middle-earth and the orcs, making her come off as a hypocrite.
- It also doesn't help the fact that in the DLC she herself also wears a ring of power yet refuses to use it for its primary focus, which is build an army of orcs to use against the Dark Lord and allows Talion to still wear Isildur’s ring when she knows it is just going to turn him into a Nazgûl who would serve Sauron making her come out as stupid by fans.
- In the DLC, Eltariel has not once apologize to Tailon for her actions in the base game and near the end of the game, she tells Tailon that he's not alone after she defeated him, gaining the ire of fans.
- Overall, her actions and writing have given her a huge hatedom who felt like she wasn't punished enough and wanted her to be killed by Tailon.
