Dulcy is a major character in the 1993 cartoon Sonic the Hedgehog, loosely based on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- Dulcy was shoehorned into the show's second season, primarily due to executive meddling to make the show more comedic and to have more female characters, and was never properly introduced. She instead randomly appears into the show, and it is expected of the audience to roll with it.
- Even with her performance by Cree Summer, many fans find her personality to be obnoxious, due to her being incompetent, loud-mouthed, clumsy, and all around useless to the rest of the Freedom Fighters.
- Many SATAM fans feel that her entire character was wasted potential. Besides the idea of there being a dragon character in the Sonic universe at all, the show establishes that she has both fire and ice related powers, though these are seemingly only added onto her character just to make jokes about her clumsiness.
- As a result of Dulcy being added to the show, an established female lead, Bunnie Rabot, was also demoted to being a supporting character in her place.
- The overall reception surrounding Dulcy wasn't any better when she appeared in the Archie comics, as she generally had the same problems. When the series got rebooted, and redid Dulcy's character and personality, not many fans thought of it due to the series getting cancelled after the mixed reception of the Unleashed arc.
