The Demon is a one-shot villain and the main antagonist of the second episode of the critically panned Slippin' Jimmy animated series. While Jimmy, Marco, and Trent Titweiler are stuck in detention, it possesses Sister Beth and attempts to kill the trio.
It was voiced by Gary Anthony Williams.
What makes it a Scrappy?[]
- The Demon has no logical reason to attack Jimmy, Marco, and Trent, or even possess Sister Beth. Instead, it tries to be comedic and threatening, but comes across as not only ridiculous, but also disgusting and painful to watch.
- The buildup that indicates that Sister Beth was possessed is obvious, as it causes her to draw hangman that references Satan. The demon then causes her to do disgusting things, like produce a fart cloud that generates tadpoles, or vomit green and purple goo that infects others.
- For some reason, the goo infecting Trent also causes him to rant about Crypto.
- The action sequences where it attacks the three students are rather anticlimactic. It ends up throttling Marco and possesses Trent, but once Jimmy and Marco end up exorcising the demon via a cartoonish cross, causing a portal to be open, it ends up defeated. The fact that it reveals itself so early breaks down the climax and makes the episode uninteresting.
- The part where it comes back from Hell and then possesses Father Karras is slightly surprising, but it doesn't detract enough from its shallow characterization, and only highlights how the episode needed some sort of villain.
- While none of the characters are particularly likable or even decently-written, the Demon stands out as arguably the worst character to appear in the show for how blandly it acts as a villain and how outrageously unrealistic it is compared to Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
