Wadey Wilson, better known as Deadpool, is a major antagonist in the Ultimate Marvel series.
He is an alternate version of the canon Deadpool who joined the Anti-Mutant Supremacy simply to torture them on his TV show.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- He lacks any of the charm, intrigue, or creative personality of normal Deadpool, instead simply being a one-note antagonist who could’ve just as well have been another character entirely.
- Deadpool in canon was a comedic character whose jokes were always creative and fun. In contrast, this Deadpool is focused only on his sadism, which strains his jokes into being less funny and more disturbing.
- Canon Deadpool was tortured when given his abilities, and was thus, driven mad because of it. This Deadpool, however, voluntarily gave himself cybernetic enhancements simply to kill mutants, eliminating the tragic side to Deadpool's character.
- This Deadpool isn’t as skilled at combat as his canon counterpart, who was capable of fending off trained mercenaries and superhumans, while this one is outsmarted and killed rather quickly.
- This Deadpool is a very one-note villain, with almost everything he does being solely to kill mutants with no reason given for why he hates them, whereas the canon Deadpool always had a reason to do what he does.
- His design is a downgrade for some fans, such as the arms of his suit or his mask detracting from his intimidation.
Trivia[]
- Interestingly, he was used as a Composite Character for the Deadpool depicted in the video game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. However, that Deadpool wasn’t a Scrappy due to retaining his canon counterpart's comedic and entertaining personality.
- He and the X-Men Origins: Wolverine counterpart are so far the only versions of Deadpool to be Scrappies.
