Hey! Listen! This article's empty. |
- NOTE: This article is about the incarnation of Dar-Benn from the Marvel Cinematic Universe film series.
“ | Captain Marvel, the annihilator. You took everything from me. And now I'm returning the favor. | „ |
~ Dar-Benn to Captain Marvel and her most famous quote. |
Kree Supremor Dar-Benn is the main antagonist of the 2023 Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film The Marvels.
She is a Kree revolutionary, former Starforce operative, and Accuser who is bent on restoring Hala, the Kree homeworld, back to its former glory after it fell desolate in the aftermath of a civil war started after the Supreme Intelligence's defeat by Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel and Ronan the Accuser's defeat by Guardians of the Galaxy. Using one of the Quantum Bands, Dar-Benn begins creating wormholes across space to siphon other planets of their resources, prompting Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) and Monica Rambeau to team up to stop her.
She was portrayed by Zawe Ashton in her first villainous role.
What Makes Her A Scrappy?[]
- She's primarily hated for being a Villain Sue character, especially considering her gender and personality was completely changed from the comics.
- People believe she lacks the entertaining qualities other villains like Ronan or Ego had and just remember her as obnoxious and childish.
- Fans don't find her motive as sympathetic as the creators intended as they hated Supreme Intelligence and all of the Kree in the first movie and they find it hard to condone her actions considering how many Skrulls the Intelligence killed.
- Some people don't like the casting choice of Tom Hiddleson's wife.
- Overall, she is remembered to be merely a female version of Ronan without anything entertaining by fans.
- Her death was spoiled in the trailers.
