Clench is a major character in the Modern Era of the machinima YouTube channel, SMG4.

He is the robotic arm of Tari who came to life in episode "SMG4: The Day My Arm Went Psycho" for unknown reasons and has since become an unofficial member of the SMG4 gang, mostly assisting Tari in her activities.

He is voiced by Zachary Preciado.

What Makes Him a Scrappy?

• His sudden appearance is not explained in any way, as he has never shown himself for several seasons.
• He is an annoying and egotistical character who spends most of his screen time throwing Tari into unnecessary situations or provoking her friends for no reason.
• He doesn’t serve much purpose to the lore of the Modern Era, as the role of Tari's supportive friend was already filled by Meggy, Saiko Bichitari, Luigi and even Mario.
• He often only helps the SMG4 gang to show off his abilities and intellect whenever Tari doesn’t feel like she can while other times he has to be bribed by Tari into helping her.
• He ironically doesn’t help Tari when she’s in danger, such as the Puzzlevision Saga, or at a low point in her life, such as the 2024 Christmas Special, which shows his insensitive and indifference, and only helps her with minor issues, which he ends up making worse.

Trivia

• Alongside Depresso and Starman3, he is one of the three SMG4 Scrappies, and by default, the only Glitch Scrappies.
• While he is a Scrappy, there’s a possibility that his reception could change in future appearances.
• The episode he debuted in, "The Day My Arm Went Psycho", caused controversy; Tari's actress, Celeste Notley-Smith, was replaced without warning (Because voice director Jasmine Yang forgot to inform her) or any mentoined reason.
