Mary Sues

Mary Sues are a term describing characters (usually protagonists) who are one dimensional, being too strong and/or too smart, who are portrayed to always win and get painted as right, regardless of whether or not they are right. Naturally, many Mary Sues are unintentionally unsympathetic.
