Child characters often tend to be easy targets towards the Scrappy status, espescially because of how hard it is to write them.

The particularly worst case scenarios of these kinds of characters are attempts to make them cutesy or endearing to the audience, or failed attempts to subvert this trope entirely, making them fall into edgy territory.
