Brooke is a major character in Ice Age: Collision Course. She is a ground sloth who lives in Geotopia. She also appears to have a crush on Sid and later becomes his mate.
She was voiced by English singer Jessie J.
What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- Her design is considered hideous and way too humanized and feminine which contrasts hard with how much more animalistic the rest of the Herd look like (because of her hair and fur which resembles a dress).
- Like Shira, she only exists to be a gender-swapped member of the herd, to serve as a romantic interest of the same character.
- She manages to have even less of a character that Shira, and have an even more forced romance with Sid, as she only appears in the third act, and seems to fall in love almost immediately with Sid after a single scene and not dialogues between the two, despite the other characters commonly hating Sid at first sight and is considered as hideous even between his sloth kind (which the movie freely lampshades).
- The movies have shown that Sid has many issues related to his love life: he's a Casanova wannabe that is implied to have no problem with cheating, he's possessive and fall in love rather quickly with girls he barely knows, and one of them, Francine's wind up having these good reasons to reject him. Instead of giving him character development for those issues, he just happens to find a couple that's okay with marrying someone he met 15 minutes ago.
- She was one of the most promoted characters in the previews despise having very limited screentime.
- Being voiced by Jessie J. is seen as an attempt to cash on her popularity, not helped by her singing a song at the end, something no other character has done before.
- Her relationship with Sid has creepy undertones in and out of universe.
- In universe, because she's a billion-year immortal sloth, immediately deciding to mate with a regular lifespan sloth.
- Out of universe, same issue happens with their voice actors: 56-years old John Leguizamo (who voices Sid) being paired with the 28-years old Jessie J.
Trivia[]
- Unlike Shira, she rarely gets bashed in the Fanfiction community, althought less out of the character being well liked and more out of fans prefering to pretend the movie that's she's part of didn't happen all together.
- Like Peaches and Shira, she was completely ignored from the recap of The Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild and doesn't appear in the movie with no explanation and hardly anyone missed her.
