Hey! Listen! This article's empty. |
Vril Dox (but most commonly referred to as Brainiac) is the main antagonist in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
He is an alien android from the planet Colu who manages to capture and clone almost all the members of the Justice League including Batman and attempt to terraform Earth.
He is voiced by Jason Isaacs.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- Fans dislike his design for a number of reasons. In most of his appearances Brainiac tends to look both human and alien like the Injustice 2 version. But this version of Brainiac looks more alien than human. He has razor sharp teeth, purple crystals coming out of his shoulders and overall looked like the aliens from Planet 51.
- Brainiac is supposed to be a serious threat, raising the stakes higher for the Arkhamverse, but his actions undermine the investment value of one of Batman's most fan favorite versions, that results in the cape crusader's death in a way that comes across as if he's just a newly fresh version ready to die as a boss fight than someone who fans grew in attachment with, back in the 2009 Arkham Asylum game.
- A huge shame with Brainiac's execution is how many Arkhamverse fans wouldn't have had a problem with him being a dangerous threat to the Justice League had it been a Justice League game that many wanted with Arkhamverse fighting mechanics, this idea was placed in favor of a less likeable cast that severs the potential of an Arkhamverse Justice League game against Brainiac.
- Much like with the brainwashed Justice League, Brainiac suffered from the case of giving the Suicide Squad too much plot armor. The best example is during after the death of Superman where Brainiac freezes the Suicide Squad in their place and then teleport all of them onto his ship where he is presumably going to brainwash them. But they all get teleport away thanks to Earth-2's Lex Luthor. It makes people question on why Brainiac doesn’t teleport the Suicide Squad back into his ship and what stopped him from doing so.
- What makes the plot armor so big for the Suicide Squad, is how Brainiac is the guy who took down Justice League, that the Suicide Squad could not take down all at once, yet were able to defeat Brainiac.
- Brainiac has one of the laziest final bosses in recent video game history. His fight is literally just a copy paste version of The Flash fight. The very first boss in the game.
- Not only is this fight baffling through a gameplay perspective, but it is also nonsensical from a storytelling perspective. This battle makes Brainiac look more like an idiot as he should be fully aware that the Suicide Squad killed The Flash due to having the Anti-Flash device given to them by Toyman. This makes people question on why does transforming himself into Flash help him against the Suicide Squad, especially because he doesn’t not try to destroy their Anti-Flash device like the real Flash did.
- Brainiac's death is considered to be lame. On top of it being with so more unfunny jokes like King Shark wanting to eat and then shit out Brainiac, he is killed by Amanda Waller by getting stabbed in the forehead with the Nano Bomb Injector, which also causes the Skull Ship to explode upon Brainiac's death.
Trivia[]
- A question considered among fans on how Brainiac was handled in the game, was the idea of Rocksteady rage quitting on Warner Bro's antics on how they did studio interference with their games development history, hence why the games title Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is perfect for their intention, as it cuts off ties they'd have with Warner Bros by eliminating what they hold them on, and the decision on rather to take negative heat from fans, then be under the rule of a studio was the more worth it choice for them.
