Baby Rosalina is a recurring character who appear in Mario Kart 8 as a playable racer. As her name implies she is an infant version of Rosalina.
She was voiced by Laura Faye Smith.
What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- Much like her fellow Mario Kart 8 debutee Pink Gold Peach, Baby Rosalina is disliked for serving no purpose in the franchise other than a way to fill out Mario Kart 8's roster. However, her hate goes beyond that as many fans have heavily criticised the fact her mere existence practically contradicts everything established about Rosalina's backstory in Super Mario Galaxy. This is only worsened by the fact she not only returns in Mario Kart World, but that she has even appeared outside of Mario Kart by being playable in the now defunct Dr. Mario World.
- Much like Pink Gold Peach, Baby Rosalina is considered a clone of both Rosalina and Baby Peach.
- She is strangely categorized as a medium character despite the fact shes no bigger than the other babies or even Lemmy; it seems to be for an extremely biased reason too, considering Rosalina is categorized as a heavyweight. Effectively, if the weight of the other babies are the class below their regular counterparts, it only made sense for Rosalina's to be the same. This was considered jarring by her detractors.
Trivia[]
- There's a possible chance that if she shows up outside of the Mario Kart series (e.g Yoshi's Island) and her existence is justified in a way that doesn't contradict the existing lore of Rosalina, there's a chance Baby Rosalina could lose her Scrappy status and possibly ascend to Base Breaking Territory.
