Ash Mongoose is a major character in the Sonic Archie comics.
He is the boyfriend of Mina and the band manager of Forget Me Knots who becomes a rival to Sonic after learning that Mina had a crush on him.
What Makes Him a Scrappy?[]
- His personality is seen as a generic "Jerk with a Heart of Gold" archetype that stays the same for all his appearances.
- He is constantly antagonizing Sonic simply because Mina admitted that she used to have a crush on him. This might not have been so bad, but Ash continues to antagonize Sonic even after he and Sonic called a truce, which annoyed fans.
- His heroic sacrifice is seen as nonsensical by fans due to the fact that he chose to carry the bomb rather than throwing it away.
