Abby the Koala is a minor character in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, specifically appearing in the Mobius 25 Years Later story.
She is a Mobian maid working for Knuckles 25 years into the future. She worked as Knuckles and his family’s chef and caretaker prior to them dissolving.
What Makes Her a Scrappy?[]
- Her design is extremely uncanny and distracting, as she resembles a real-life koala in comparison to the rest of the characters, who are all drawn in a cartoonish fashion. This causes her to distract from the scenes themselves, which often include story details or key moments.
- She has little personality outside of complaining about others' behaviour, with whatever personality she does have resembling an outdated "Mammy"-type character, which leads to unfortunate implications given she works as a maid.
- She has no purpose in the story and adds nothing of value in her limited appearances, not even trying to help her master when he and Sonic leave to save Mobius from destruction. Adding to it, she doesn't even appear or get mentioned once after the timeline is altered, making her role even less meaningful.
- Her relationship with the Guardian Family isn’t very well-defined, as her only interactions with them are cooking them meals and chatting about the other characters.

- In response to her appearance, memes used to be made in regards to it, often calling her "The Ultra-Realistic Koala Maid."
- Of the Scrappies in the Sonic the Hedgehog, Abby arguably appears the least, not including background appearances.
